This varietal hails from the Northern Italy area near the Alps - Similar to our area at the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Teroldego has been cultivated for approximately 600 years and is growing in popularity in California. Aromas of sour cherry, peat moss, and a hint of violets. Vibrant red fruit jumps out on the palate, followed by an underlying note of anise; with a meaty nuance on the finish.
